Today we’re going to be talking about my favorite record stores in Lexington, Kentucky. These are my usual record stores that I hit up almost every week or two so I would like to think I know them pretty well, so let’s go!
First up on the list is CD Central located at 377 S Limestone. Don’t let the name fool ya, they have a huge selection of vinyl of pretty much any genre you can imagine.. rock, hip-hop, country, jazz, reggae, R&B, and the list goes on. The albums are sorted in alphabetical order and are incredibly organized which I love. Their new used arrivals bin always has some great gems in it! They are the go-to spot for new releases. If you’re looking for some weird new album they probably have it there. Their CD selection is also out of this world. In the other half of the store they also have a nice shelf of music DVDs and some posters for sale.
Second on the list is Pops Resale located at 1423 Leestown Road. Pops is a great place for used vinyl at great prices. I’ve found many classic albums here and also went here for Record Store Day one year. Besides vinyl, Pops also has an assortment of other collectibles, including tons of cool vintage clothing organized by decade, music tees, and other vintage memorabilia. They also frequently have video games too! Within in the last couple months they have been having a “Beatles Day” every month where they bring in a lot of new Beatles memorabilia. Not only vinyl, but other cool collectibles. 10/10 would recommend.
Here is a video I made several years ago where I show more of Pops Resale!
